Sylvia and I were inseparable childhood friends and I recall many happy and enjoyable times together, laughing and having fun. Rest in peace dear friend until our paths cross again.

An inspirational friend and teacher. Great company as she was well read and listened to others. Never shy to get things done and to share the reward of helping others on their way. A special person who shared her love for learning with everyone, young and old and importantly those who wanted to grow. A new friend who will be missed, Prue

I am sorry to hear of Sylvia's death. I knew her from Lucy Cavendish and she was always good company, and very learned in her subject. Mary Hill Harris
